Horse Adoption Testimonials

Kay and Tango

Kay and Tango

A happy ending story for Tango, one of our fostered rescue horses who was adopted this summer by one of our volunteers, Kay Gilbert. Cute couple!!

Amy and Roo

Amy and Roo

In 2016, the first season at Blue River Horse Center, a 3 year old Friesian mix named Roo was one of the 15 horses to participate in the BRHC educational programs and horse foster care. For me, as a volunteer at the Center, it was love at first sight. Roo, now fondly called Liberty Roo, is a big part of my family’s and my lives.

At 3 months old, Roo was abandoned at the Delta Horse Sale Lot. The buyers took her mother and left the her tied to a post. She was immediately taken to Dreamcatchers Horse Therapy in Olathe, Colorado, run by Kathy Hamm, who lovingly took care of her for three years.

As a result, Liberty Roo is very affectionate and loves people. My life is so much richer because she has come into my life. Our story is a true example of what Blue River Horse Center is all about, bringing people and horses together!
