Dec 5, 2023

Since last week, the globally renowned stallion Ogano Sitte, known for his athletic and breeding achievements, has found his new home at Hengststation Völz. Previously stationed at Hengststation Böckmann, this highly sought-after sire will now be based in Bienenbüttel in agreement with his owners, Horses of Belgium - Sitte.

Ogano Sitte's father, Darco, a winner of numerous prestigious prizes and seventh in the individual rankings at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, has left a significant mark on the international showjumping scene with offspring such as Sapphire (McLain Ward/USA), Parco (Ludo Philippaerts/BEL), and Winningmood (Luciana Diniz/POR).

The suffix "Sitte" traces back to his great-grandmother, Gute Sitte, a successful Hanoverian daughter of the influential stallion Grande, who won team bronze at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal with Eric Wauters/BEL. The name "Sitte" is globally recognized for exceptional quality in showjumping.

Under rider Dominique Hendrix, Ogano Sitte has achieved international success up to the 4-star level, winning the CSI**** Grand Prix in Naples. His tremendous fighting spirit and excellent attitude set him apart.

Over 50 of his offspring have made it to the top level of the sport, impressing on the international stage. Successful progeny include Arac du Seigneur under Angelique Rüsen (GER), H&M Ikker under the Philippaerts brothers (BEL), Sisley de la Tour Vidal under Pénélope Leprévost (FRA), Aganix du Seigneur under Jos Lansink (BEL), Button Sitte under Richard Moloney (IRL), Viego les Hauts under Victoria Gulliksen (NOR), Gaudi under Paola Amilibia (MEX), Legend under Eduardo Álvarez Aznar (ESP), and Thelma ala Tour Vidal under Koti Sato (JAP).

Undoubtedly, Ogano Sitte is an outstanding sire who impresses both through his own sporting achievements and the successes of his offspring in showjumping. His exceptional quality makes him a highly sought-after choice for breeders worldwide. The announcement of his arrival was made on Instagram on November 30th, 2023, and generated great excitement among the stallion station's followers.

The Völz family is delighted to welcome Ogano Sitte and extends heartfelt thanks to Hengststation Böckmann and Horses of Belgium - Sitte for their excellent collaboration.
